While a workplace violence policy addresses violence between employees on the premises, a domestic violence policy addresses
the safety of employees whose work environment is affected by violence in the home.
It's to your advantage to address the problem of domestic violence in the workplace. In fact, OSHA, in its General Duty
Clause, requires employers to provide a safe and healthful environment for all workers covered by the Occupational Safety
and Health Act of 1970.
By creating a domestic violence policy and insuring its proper and effective implementation through continued training
of management, supervisors and staff you address a significant workplace safety concern and thereby create the safer, more
healthful working environment we all want and need.
